Exploring Holographic Highlighters

I have been seeing the holographic highlighter trend popping up everywhere as of late, and I wasn't sure how to feel about the whole thing. So many brands are diving into the crazy colourful highlight world - blue, pink, yellow, you name it - and it didn't seem like a feasible trend for the everyday gal to incorporate into her routine. However, now having played with multiple versions of the trendy pieces, I think it's safe to say that this trend is a helluva good time and can definitely spice up even the most boring of routines. I teamed up with Sephora today to show you some of the top picks from this poppin' glow inducing trend, read on to see my findings...

The Anastasia Aurora Glow Kit boasts six holographic shades that range all across the colour spectrum, and each shade is incredibly pigmented & vibrant. These shades leave a gorgeous shimmering glow on the skin and can be used anywhere on the face & body, and can also be used wet or dry! This palette may not necessarily tickle the fancies of the everyday gal, but I think the shades in the palette would be perfect to use for festivals, parties, or even just sprucing up an eye look. This palette will definitely be coming with me to my next Coachella adventure (fingers crossed) and used to amp up my body glow!

The Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette is a beautiful little work of art - the packaging is absolutely gorgeous and completely delivers on Kat Von D's style. There are four shades in the palette - Green Emerald, Blue Sapphire, Ultra-Violet Amethyst, and Pink Opal. The shades in the palette are also meant to be multi purpose, so they can be used anywhere (eyes, lips, face, body, etc). I find them to be much more on the 'holographic' side of the highlighting world, whereas the ABH Aurora palette (above) falls more into the classic shimmering highlighter side. They leave an incredible 'lit from within' finish on the skin and have reflects that switch up the colour as they move in the light.

This Milk Makeup Holographic stick in the shade MARS is my favourite out of the 'holographic' highlighter bunch. It has the most unique peachy colouring that I had yet to see in a highlighter! It adds a beautiful warm glow to the skin and is a perfect highlighting shade for these warm summer months. This product is also vegan and cruelty free which makes using this product all the better!

I was so smitten with the Farsali Unicorn Essence - I had never seen such a gorgeous liquid in a skincare product before & it definitely made me feel more magical when I put it on the skin! This is an incredibly versatile product, as you can use it as a serum for skincare, makeup prep, primer, and even a highlighter. It leaves a natural glow on the skin and is filled with a ton of natural oils to make the skin glow from the inside out.
